さて、MD331としては2023~25年の鶴嶋浩二国際理事誕生を目指して活動をして参りましたが、
Now, MD331 has been working towards the appointment of Koji Tsurushima as International Director from 2023 to 2025.
現国際理事退任による空席補充の為、急遽国際理事会の推薦、並びに投票により5月31日付で2022~24年の国際理事に就任となりました。
Based on the recommendation and vote of the Board of Directors, he was appointed as an International Director for 2022-2024 on May 31st.
これも関係各位のご努力と感謝申し上げると共に、L鶴嶋浩二のライオンズクラブに対する熱い情熱、素晴らしい実行力、指導力が評価されたものとして、MD331としても大変名誉なことと受け止めております。

L.鶴嶋浩二におかれましては、OSEALを代表する国際理事に就任されましたことを心よりお慶び申し上げます。
I would like to express my sincere congratulations to L. Koji Tsurushima for his appointment as OSEAL International Director.
実はこの就任は、OEC（OSEAL Executive Committee）からの直々の依頼によるものでした。
In fact, this appointment was a direct request from the OEC (OSEAL Executive Committee). did.
OECは、6年前香港で開催されたOSEALフォーラムの際に元国際会長が集まり、二つの目標を掲げて創設されました。
OEC was founded by past international presidents. It was at the OSEAL Forum six years ago in Hong Kong. There were two goals.
第一には、フォーラムをお祭りではなく教育と研修の場にする、第二には、国際理事の質の向上を目指すということです。
About the two goals. First, make the forum a place for education and training, not a festival.
The second goal is to improve the quality of international directors.
しかし実際には、フォーラムは、フォーラム委員会が前例を踏襲するのみで、改革されておりませんでした。
However, the forum was not reformed. The committee has not changed.
今回2025年に札幌での開催を求める入札プレゼンテーションはまさしく画期的であり、OECが望んでいたものでした。
The bid presentation for Sapporo to host the event was groundbreaking. That was what the OEC wanted. It’s a 2025 presentation.
そのため実行委員長のL.鶴嶋を国際理事に推薦しようということになったわけです。
Therefore, we decided to recommend L. Tsurushima to the position of International Director.
ご本人にとっても青天の霹靂だったことでしょう。
It must have been “A bolt from the blue” for him as well.
L. 鶴嶋は非常に素晴らしいアイデアを持ち、企画力のある人物ですから、質の面では申し分ありません。
L. Tsurushima is a person with great ideas and planning skills, so the quality is perfect.
常に向上心を持ち、国際理事としてふさわしい人格と品格を磨いていって頂けたらと存じます。
I wish him this. Always have an ambition to improve. Please develop the character and dignity appropriate for an international director.
国際本部は、2025年の札幌で開催されるOSEALフォーラムが成功することを見越し、2030年、札幌での国際大会を模索しております。
The International Headquarters predicts that the 2025 Sapporo OSEAL Forum will be a success. As a result, they are considering holding an international tournament in Sapporo in 2030.
よってこのような異例の就任は今まで100年の歴史の中でなかったことであり、大いにやりがいのある職務であると存じます。
Therefore, this unusual appointment has never happened before in our 100-year history, and I believe it will be a very rewarding role.

キャンペーン100の成功で、奉仕を拡大する財団資金を獲得できました。
The success of Campaign 100 allows us to expand our service.
次はこれを活かすべく、意義ある奉仕活動に携わる会員を増やし、世界にポジティブな変化をもたらす段階に進んで参ります。
Next, we will increase the number of suitable members to take advantage of this. It brings positive change to the world.
そのためライオンズクラブ国際協会は今期から2027年7月1日までに全世界合計会員数を150万人に増強することを決定しました。
For this reason, Lions Clubs International has decided to increase the total number of members worldwide to 1.5 million by July 1, 2027.
このミッション達成に、L鶴嶋の情熱あふれるリーダーシップが大いに貢献するに違いありません。
L Tsurushima’s leadership is critical to achieve this mission.
L鶴嶋には、ビジネスの世界で多くの経験を得て、また様々な困難にも立ち向かい、「風に立つライオン」として知識と熱意でライオンズクラブを正しい方向へ引っ張り続けていただきたいと思っています。
L Tsurushima has extensive experience in the business world. It’s like a “lion standing in the wind” facing difficulties. His wisdom and passion will guide Lions Clubs in the right direction. I hope so.

鶴嶋浩二国際理事は、2021年度331-Ａ地区ガバナーと331複合地区ガバナー協議会議長を兼務された後、
2022年度には、LCIFエリアリーダーを勤められ、これまで地域社会とライオンズクラブのためにご尽力されていらっしゃいました。
Koji Tsurushima served as DG and PCC in 2021, and then as LCIF Area Leader in 2022, and has been working hard for the local community and Lions Club.
また、ライオンズクラブ国際会長賞やリーダーシップ賞、国際会長感謝状、LCIF理事長感謝状など、数々のアワードも受賞されております。
He has also received many letters of appreciation and awards.

I believe that L. Tsurushima’s passion and leadership will lead the 2025 OSEAL Forum to success.

L Tsurushima and I worked together during the Great East Japan Earthquake.
同期のガバナーそして、一般社団法人日本ライオンズの執行部として同年度に活動した同士であります。
We are fellow governors who were active in the same year.
年齢は一回りL鶴嶋が先輩ですが、いつも気さくに、仲良く接して頂ける頼りがいのある
兄貴分として、お付き合いさせていただいております。
He is always friendly and a reliable older brother.(reliable リライアブル)
なので、国際理事としての任期が１年であるのが、少し寂しい気持ちもありますが
I feel a little sad that his role as international director is only for one year.
持ち前の
リーダーシップと行動力により、世界そしてOSEAL地域、また日本のライオンズクラブ発展と
ライオンズクラブの奉仕を受ける皆様の為、一年を有功に飛び回って頂けるでしょう。
But with his leadership, the year will travel successfully.
This is for the development and service of OSEAL and Japanese Lions Clubs.
また、2025年にはL鶴嶋の出身地、札幌市において第62回東洋東南アジアフォーラムが
開催されます際には、先頭にたって大会を成功させるべく導かれると思います。
Also, when the 2025 East and Southeast Asia Forum is held, he will take the lead in making it a success.

持って再び日本国にて、国際大会が開催される呼び水となるサクセスストーリーにも期待

私は、L鶴嶋が国際理事である時期に一般社団法人日本ライオンズの理事長を拝命した事
を運命と捉え、問題が山積する日本ライオンズの改革に邁進する決意を新たにしているところ

日本のライオンズは、主役がクラブと言う事を少し忘れてきたのかと、ふと思う時がある。
I sometimes think,
The Japanese Lions have forgotten that “the club is the main player.”
それを原点に戻そうと考えているのが、国際理事に6月就任した、鶴嶋浩二ライオンに期待して
いる一人です。
I’m thinking of returning it to its origins. And I have high hopes for Koji Tsurushima Lion.
以前に札幌中島ライオンズクラブと私の所属する札幌北の杜ライオンズクラブ
の合同例会の時にスピーチの言葉でお話をした「あるべきクラブ（中島）からなるべき人が出る
（鶴嶋）」 あれから4年、まさに誕生した。
The content of my previous speech was, “The club that should be (Nakajima) will have the right people.
(Tsurushima).”
Four years later, it was born.
日本のライオンズは、71年間世界的に奉仕活動をしてきたのにもかかわらず、アピールが
下手だと思う。
It’s been 71 years since the Lions in Japan, but I think they’re not good at promoting.

第1の目的は、経済効果。（30億）
The first purpose is economic effect. (3 billion)
第2の目的は、道民の皆さんにライオンズの活動を広く知ってもらう。

第3の目的は、若い人達がライオンズに興味を持ち一緒に活動してもらえれば…
The third purpose is to approach young people. To work together.

の要職を歴任され、経験を積まれてこられました。

ありますGAT・LCIFのみならず、第62回OSEALフォーラム開催地の国際理事としてご健康

この北の大地でも、例年になく暑い夏となりましたが、朝晩は、ようやく秋の気配が感じられる
季節となりました。

本日はご多忙にもかかわらず、全国から私の祝賀会の為に、足をお運び頂き、
盛大な祝賀会が開催される事を大変嬉しく思います。

331-A地区にとりましては、杉本元国際理事(2008~2010年)が就任して以来の国際理事となり、
15年振りの国際理事の誕生となります。
For District 331-A, this is the first international director since former international director Sugimoto (2008-2010) was appointed.
This is the first international director in 15 years.
さて、7月に行われました、昨年度最後の国際理事会より職務に携わっており、 初めて出席し
た理事会は、連日会議続きで、常に色々な問題に向き合わなければなりませんでした。
Well, I have been involved in my duties since the last international board meeting of last year,
which was held in July, and this was my first time attending.
The Board of Directors had to meet every day and constantly had to deal with various problems.
国際理事として、何だか試されているような毎日でした。
As an international director, every day felt like I was being tested in some way.
国際大会委員会に属する私は、国際大会の様々な問題に関し、解決に向けて誠心誠意、尽力してまいる所存です。
As a member of the International Convention Committee, I will try to resolve many issues.
また所信にも書かせて頂きましたが、日本での国際大会実現にむけても、活動していきたいと存じます。
We would like to continue working towards the realization (リアリゼイション) of an international convention in Japan.
10月にはエジプト・カイロでの国際理事会会議が行われる予定です。
The International Board of Directors meeting will be held in Cairo, Egypt in October.
1年余りではありますが、国際理事としての職責を全うしていく所存ですので、
It will be about a year,
but I will do my best as an international director.
